A 1964 graduate of Rider
College, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Joe received a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Real Estate Law and
Practice. Joe served as his senior class president, maintained and graduated
with a 4.0 average in real estate, was the top student in real estate in his
graduating class, and played on the varsity basketball team. During his
years at Rider, he was employed by Central Mortgage Company and later the
John D. Lazarus Real Estate Firm, where he was working and assisting in the
capacity of a real estate appraiser.
Following his graduation from Rider, Joe was employed by Allied Stores in
its retail and real estate operations from 1965 to 1973. He was actively
involved in the analysis of store locations, gaining valuable insight into
the marketing strategies and long-term business planning of a major retail
operation
From 1974 until 1983, Joe owned and operated a group of furniture stores. In
1984, he decided to sell his interest in the furniture operation and return
to real estate. He established himself in the field of real estate
development by joining one of the nation’s largest real estate sales
operations, Coldwell Banker. At Coldwell Banker Joe specialized in site
locations and leasing for retailers and developers for freestanding and
shopping center locations. Shortly thereafter, he founded Commercial Realty
Specialists, Inc., a similar company specializing in the location and
development of commercial business sites, tenant representation and leasing.
His expertise in the location and development of sites led to the
development of over 2,000,000 square feet of shopping centers and many free
standing retail locations.
In
1991, Joe established a brokerage firm by the name of LMS Commercial Real
Estate and a property management firm by the name of Property Management
Alternatives, Inc. These firms are actively engaged in the
management and
leasing of over 6,500,000 square feet of shopping centers in the central
Pennsylvania area. LMS specializes in acquisition, development, leasing,
sales, financing, and investment analysis for national and regional clients
on a fee basis and partnership basis.
Throughout his career, Joe has worked with both national and regional
clients including K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Sam’s, B.J. ‘s, Lowes, Staples, Office
Max, Men’s Warehouse, Peebles Department Store, Sheetz, Turkey Hill, Gabriel
Brothers, T.J. Maxx, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Giant Foods, Weis Market, Fleming
Foods, Associated Wholesalers, CVS, Rite Aid, Payless Shoes, Pier One,
McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, Hardees, Chi Chi’s, Damons, Ruby Tuesdays
and several hotels and banks.
